July’21, 2016, New Delhi: The capital city of West Bengal, Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), situated on the East Bank of Hoogly River is primarily the city of art and culture and primarily known as “City of joy”. Whether, its Holy occasion of Durga Pooja or Kali Pooja, the immense attachment of this city with its ancestral culture and tradition can be seen eventually. Kolkata is the birth place of several Nobel Laureates such as Sir Ronald Ross, Rabindranath Tagore, CV Raman, Mother Teresa, and Amartya Sen. we all have heard about the must visit places of Kolkata such as Victoria Memorial, Howrah Bridge, Indian Museum and etc, and the fame of “Rosgulla” is also well known to all of us. This Eco Park is not only for the recreational purpose but, it also maintains the balance in the environmental system.

4) Thakurbari :

Commonly known as Jorasanko Thakurbari is the ancestral house of Rabindranath Tagore, now recognized as the museum, it totally implies to the life of Nobel Prize holder. It covers the area of 35000 sq meters; Museum also has the work of Maharashi Devendranath Tagore, Jyotirindranath Tagore, Abanindranath and Dinendranath tagore.

 

5) Esplanade Market / New Market :

 

It is the cheapest market of Kolkata and is best suited for Hawkers. It has the availability of Electronics, Watch shops, Footwear shops, Foods and you can get from anything to everything. All necessary materials such as Woolen goods, hosiery, paper and allied products, stationery, musical instruments, Jeans, Tops, latest sunglasses, jerseys are also available. Whether, it’s branded or non branded product, you can easily attain both at lesser prices.
